چکیده
The current investigation presents the wear-worn surface analysis of a silicon carbide-reinforced brass-based composite synthesized by stir casting. Wear behavior brass pin was analyzed disc tribometer. characterization studies and confirmation elemental composition are investigated through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) respectively. worn using atomic force (AFM). aim is to examine morphology specimen. Based on input constraints, wear rate ranges from 0.0135 0.0893 mm3/min. applied load predominant factor in (83.75%). Sliding velocity has minor effect (1.06%). improved roughness 15.27 nm produced surface. novelty research work study various parameters surface, such as average, root mean square roughness, maximum height skewness, kurtosis. These were at different surfaces composite. deeply incorporated with SEM AFM analysis.

Composite materials are playing major and vital role in various sectors especially in aeronautical, defence and automotive sectors. It is preferable because of obtaining unique characteristics such as high specific strength, high stiffness, high corrosion resistance and low density. In the present work deals with the influence of Titanium carbide and Titanium boride reinforcements in different ...
متن کاملCasting of SiC Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites
Composites based on two aluminium alloys (A536 and 6061) reinforced with 10% or 20% volume fraction of SiC particles were produced by gravity casting and a novel two-step mixing method was applied successfully to improve the wettability and distribution of the particles. The SiC particles were observed to be located predominantly in the interdendrit ic regions, and a thermal lag model is propos...
متن کاملEffect of Hexagonal Boron Nitrate on Microstructure and Mechanical Behavior of Al7075 Metal Matrix Composite Producing by Stir Casting Technique
Al7075 alloy reinforced with h-Boron Nitrate (BN) composites were processed by stir casting technique. The produced composite was subjected to microstructural studies using OLYMPUS -BX51M, tensile, hardness, density and wear tests. Tensile strength and hardness were found to increase by 12.8% and 20% respectively due to increased dislocation density with the addition of reinforcement. Microstru...
متن کاملSimulation of the Stir Casting Process
Non homogeneous particle distribution is one of the greatest problems in casting Metal Matrix Composites (MMC's). To optimize some of the parameters for uniform particle distribution for batch compocasting the present simulation studies were conducted. The simulation involves visualisation experiments. In the visualisation experiments liquid and semi solid aluminium are replaced by other fluids...
